Functional Tester

8 - 10 yrs

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze business and functional requirements to create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases

Perform manual testing of web, mobile, and backend/API applications

Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues

Log, track, and manage defects through JIRA or similar tools

Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and daily stand-ups

Prepare test summary reports and support UAT and production validation

Optionally contribute to automation test scripting using tools like Selenium, Postman, or similar

Required Skills & Qualifications:
8–10 years of hands-on experience in functional testing

Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA best practices

Experience with test management tools (e.g., HP ALM, TestRail, JIRA, Zephyr)

Solid experience in writing test cases, test execution, and defect lifecycle management

Good knowledge of SQL for backend validation

Basic understanding of API testing (Postman/SoapUI)

Strong analytical and communication skills

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Exposure to banking/finance, healthcare, or similar domains is a plus
