Job Description

Overview BooksTime is looking for an experienced accountant to join us as a Senior Accountant. You’ll oversee bookkeeping services for a set of clients. Responsibilities Set up services for new clients: discuss needs, coordinate a team of international bookkeepers, and establish a high-level accounting resource role to the bookkeepers. Manage client communications and expectations; build a trusted advisor relationship with clients. Supervise ongoing services for the same clients after setup, providing support to bookkeepers as needed. Explore opportunities for role evolution, including: new service setup, ongoing supervision, industry specialization, controller/CFO services, and management roles. What You’ll Do As a Senior Accountant, you’ll set up services for new clients and coordinate a team of bookkeepers to begin services, acting as a high-level accounting resource and primary client liaison. Oversee ongoing services and support for the assigned clients. Potentially take on specialized versions of the role in the future (e.g., new-set-up, ongoing supervision, industry specialization, controller/CFO services, management). Requirements We are looking for someone who is: Experienced: has handled accounting for multiple companies (in-house or firm). Titles such as Controller, Finance Manager, Full Charge Bookkeeper, Director of Accounting, VP of Finance, CFO, or Senior Accountant are relevant; management experience is a plus. Hands-on QuickBooks experience is required; ideally, experience with several clients simultaneously. Knowledgeable: accounting degrees typical; CPA and/or ProAdvisor is a plus but not required. Highly organized: strong ability to juggle multiple clients with different services and coordinate a diverse team of bookkeepers. Great at building strong relationships: able to establish a trusted advisor relationship with clients; personable and client-focused. Effective communicator: excellent professional English, both written and spoken. Tech-savvy: proficient with computers; Excel experience preferred; QuickBooks Online or Desktop is required; experience with Xero or NetSuite is a plus but not required. Adaptable and fast learner: comfortable with new clients and problem-solving; not suited for those who prefer rigid, established processes.
