Summary:
Sooner Cattle Company is seeking a collaborative and self-motivated
Ranch Maintenance Administrator to join our team! This role will support the ranch's goals by caring for the maintaining inventories, maintaining equipment, maintaining housing, maintaining facilities, and assist in caring for cattle.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the EMTS (work order system) and create reports.
- Repair and upkeep of the stewardships and all farm vehicles, tractors, shop equipment, fuel systems and mechanical equipment.
- Review and schedule regular and monthly preventative maintenance programs on all equipment with Supervisor.
- Maintain Ranch housing; coordinate and supervise work performed by outside contractors.
- Manage accurate inventory of fuel, propane, and shop supplies. Assist with the resource plan for the stewardship.
- Adhere to all safety procedures; keep up with any training, licenses and certifications required to perform job effectively.
- Operate at or below annual budgeted repairs and maintenance costs.
- Make recommendations on annual capital and operating budgets, as well as the operating plans.
- Assist with cattle production activities.
- Maintain and continuously improve property in addition to safeguarding the unit.
- Build strong professional relationships with all members of ranch, industry customers, and the local community.
Qualifications:
- Valid in-state driver's license with HS diploma or GED. Advanced degree a plus.
- 5+ years' experience in maintenance, mechanical or related technical skill, to include welding, basic mechanical equipment repair and maintenance.
- Competent in operating heavy equipment and handling cattle.
- Basic computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft tools.
- Must be able to tolerate, be willing to learn, and to perform castration, euthanasia, vaccinations, dehorning, ear tagging, etc. notching, branding, taking blood samples, and other procedures normal to animal husbandry.
- Strong demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role which includes the ability to repeatedly lift up to 75 lbs and push, pull, and drag up to 200 lbs. and in a leaned over or squatted position. Walk and stand for up to 12 hours per day.
- Able to perform work outside in year-round weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain.
- Able to work an average 45-hour week and 9-hour workday, which can vary frequently and include additional overtime, weekends and holidays to accommodate business needs.
