This position is responsible for the organization, coordination and delivery of employee health services to employees, medical staff, and volunteers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. Two (2) years of nursing experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). Three (3) years of nursing experience. CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts new hire screenings and annual employee health screenings including health history, immunizations update, and brief physical assessment. Provides education prior to administration of annual vaccinations and follow-up to ensure compliance with policies. Records vaccination information per policy and federal law. Investigates personnel post exposure to blood or body fluids and provides counseling. Maintains confidentiality of employee, patient, and departmental information. Plans and conducts annual flu vaccine program. Provides education in compliance with OSHA, CDC, or other regulatory agencies. Assists in developing and presenting quality assurance and/or quarterly reports. Facilitates assessment of Employee Health issues, providing interventions or referrals. Develops and maintains Employee Health policies and procedures. Refers employee illness and injury visits to appropriate departments. Maintains Employee Health records and documents care. Maintains competency in Occupational Health, Employee Health, and Wellness through education and committee participation. Participates in Performance Improvement activities. Interprets JCAHO standards and implements practices to meet standards. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must meet physical demands including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials/equipment weighing 35+ lbs with use of patient handling aids. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Working closely with others, irregular hours, exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased, water, and electrical hazards. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of infection control, nursing procedures, nursing process, professional theory and practice, and ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, healthcare team, and leadership.
