Cardiology - Physician Opportunity

The Medical Director for Advanced Heart Failure at our organization in San Antonio will spearhead clinical and strategic efforts for a robust heart failure program, which encompasses advanced therapies and transplant initiatives. This position entails overseeing multidisciplinary teams, enhancing patient outcomes, and broadening regional referral networks. Candidates must possess board certification and a minimum of five years of experience in advanced heart failure, along with demonstrated leadership in program development and quality enhancement.

We are in search of a distinguished Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure to guide the advancement and excellence of our growing heart failure program. This role presents a unique chance to influence the future of advanced cardiovascular care in South Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical and strategic direction for a comprehensive advanced heart failure program.
  2. Manage both outpatient and inpatient services, advanced therapies (such as LVAD and ECMO), and the establishment of future transplant capabilities.
  3. Lead multidisciplinary teams aimed at improving patient outcomes and minimizing readmission rates.
  4. Collaborate with system leaders to enhance regional referral networks and position our organization as a center of excellence.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology.
  • At least 5 years of experience in advanced heart failure, including LVAD or transplant care.
  • Demonstrated leadership in program development, quality improvement, and team building.
